Chicco Bravo Trio Review
So we’ll be covering various aspects of this Chicco Bravo Travel system so that you can make a sound judgment based on the provided information.
What is Included in the Trio Set?
Chicco Bravo Trio Travel System includes; a Keyfit 30 infant car seat, Chicco Bravo Stroller, and a car seat base, parent tray with cup holders. You can use this travel system from the time of your child’s infancy to toddlerhood.
Your infant car seat can be attached even when the toddler seat is still on or you may also remove the seat and then transform bravo into a car seat frame. When your baby gets older and able to sit straight then you may use Bravo with your regular car seat.
The Chicco Bravo stroller comes with a free car seat adapter that is not only compatible with Keyfit 30 (included in the set), but also with KeyFit and Fit2 infant car seats.
KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat
This is the first thing that is included in this travel system and that is a KeyFit 30 Infant Car seat. You can attach the Keyfit 30 with the stroller frame or a stroller seat.
Just by removing the seat, a stroller can be transformed into an infant car seat carrier for newborns as well. You need to detach the stroller seat and click on the Keyfit 30 infant car seat and you are good to go. It is very easy to use
You don’t have to remove the toddler seat every time you want to use the stroller with the car seat. It comes with the option of attaching an infant car seat to the toddler seat. You can also use the stroller canopy along with the seat canopy for providing full sun protection for the baby. You can read about the best car seats here too.
Chicco Bravo Stroller
Chicco Bravo Stroller is another thing you get into this travel system. When your baby is old enough to have enough neck and head control then you can start using the regular stroller seat. The toddler seat comes with a 3-position recline and has the capability to accommodate a child till he is up to 50 lbs.
In order to recline the seat, you just have to push one button and then use the other hand to recline it. The seat and leg rest comes with comfortable padding. It also comes with a five-point harness that provides some additional safety to your child. Three of the five straps are padded. The shoulder strap height is adjustable, but the crotch strap has one position only. You may watch the below video to convert it to a travel system;
Features – What’s so good about it?
The Chicco Bravo has some of the industry-leading features. This travel system comes with the Chicco Key Fit 30 Infant Car Seat that can be transformed into a stroller by just placing it in the frame. The 30 in the name refers to the maximum weight limit (in pounds) that it can hold.
You may use it with the infant insert, then it can accommodate babies as little as four pounds. The seat itself reclines and can attain various positions to keep your child in a comfortable posture.
The fabric used in the seat is of premium quality and it is very easy to clean. The cushioning is very comfortable that is lined with energy-absorbing foam for safety and comfort. The seat fabric is removable and you may remove it as you won’t need the toddler seat fabrics for the first few months anyway. Once your baby is ready for the main stroller seat then you may attach the seat fabric again.
In order to assist you in proper installation, there are RideRight bubble level indicators which are located on either side of the base. These indicators ensure that the seat is accurately installed at the right angles. These are also used in conjunction with the ReclneSure spring-assisted leveling foot ensuring the seat is accurately adjusted. There is also a five-point harness that comes with one-hand tightening and a push-button chest clip for keeping your baby secure and safe.
The Bravo comes with a removable and adjustable canopy which provides nice coverage to the baby. However, the fabric is not SPF or UV protected which is a little drawback. This canopy is also equipped with a mesh peek-a-boo window that lets you keep an eye on your little champ. This is a pretty nice feature as Bravo doesn’t offer a reversible seat so having a mesh peek-a-boo window helps you keep an eye on your child the whole time.
It is also equipped with an adjustable handlebar that offers three different positions; however, these positions are ideal for short and average parents – a little short for tall people. The push bar is padded with soft foam.
The strollers come with linked rear brakes which are very easy to set and release. However, there are no indicators that let parents know that whether brakes are set properly or not.
Bravo Stroller comes with two 7″ front wheels and two 9″ rear wheels which are made of plastic and filled with foam. The stroller also comes with four-wheel suspensions which absorb the shocks and keep your baby safe while riding him/her around.
Chico Bravo Trio has also an under-seat basket which is quite big and spacious. It would be convenient to fit the large diaper bags that can easily be accessed later on. For added storage, it also comes with a parent tray and two cup holders. If you want some extra storage too then there is a feature to a child tray as well for some extra bucks.
The stroller is very lightweight (as confirmed by many parents as well) and it only weighs 23 lbs which makes it very easy to carry around. Folding this travel system is very easy as you may collapse it with one hand.
As far maneuverability is concerned, Chicco Bravo is a bit difficult to push and turn over bumpy terrain, especially with one hand. However, it is easier to navigate it on even grounds or to push it with two hands. Although, the buggy is pretty compact so it can fit through tight spaces pretty easily.
Since, the Chicco Bravo is a complete travel system it includes three modes including; Keyfit30 carrier, a travel system, and a stroller for toddlers.
The Keyfit30 of this travel system is pretty easy to install in your car. You need to take the two Latch connectors on the car seat base, and clip them into the Latch connectors of your car. Then you need to use the SuperCinch One-Pull LATCH tightener (to tighten the center pull belt).
When you put your Keyfit 30 seat over the base then you will hear the click sound ensuring that it is connected properly. In order to unlock it, just pull the handle at the back and the seat out of your car.
